Loved that part!

Also loved the FBI raiding Cromartie, and him opening up a can on them.

Can't believe he spared the black FBI agent, but maybe it's because he more or less surrendered with his eyes closed.

The machines... all of them, are becoming more human the longer they live with us. The whole "they don't have a soul" argument may turn out not to be true. After all, one shows mercy and the other shows a desire to have a birthday and to perform art. Yet another still... can show love. Interesting enough though, none of them have totally been able to defeat their mission programming though.

In not killing Ellison, the terminator stayed true to his mission and at the same time, showed mercy. It's just an odd combination for a machine. I'll have to go back to that scene and see if I agree with the prayer thing. He probably was, but I don't think that was the intended message there at all.

I'll admit it, I got a tad misty over the 5 year-old father thing Wink Also, the Terminator universe apparently doesn't explode if two of the same ppl are in proximity to one another (Derek).

ellison is certianly being shown the be a Christian...from the Bible study he was leading to various comments like in this EP when he quoted Revalations and correlated Judgement Day with the end times prophecies i thought that was awsome! Very surpised Fox did that though...considering Fox is the devil  hurt

Ok, I've been holding this in for a while, but doesn't anybody else get annoyed that Sarah's voice-over every ep's intro says that Skynet sent Cameron back to protect John?

That's either completely inaccurate, or there's one HUGE revelation coming down the road.

Two people drift in a lifeboat. One says, "I see an island. Our best chance is to go ashore, build a shelter, and await rescue." The others says, "No, we must go farther out to sea and hope to find the shipping lanes." Unable to agree, the two fight, the lifeboat capsizes, and they drown.

that's what other seasons are for.

John probably creates skynet himself. It's all his fault. Skynet sent Cameron back to protect him to ensure he builds skynet... by accident of course.

Well, I really enjoyed the second hour of the two hour finale, but someone forgot to tell our local station that it was TWO HOURS ... grrr ... so I missed the 'Vick's Chip' episode!

Anyway, the "let's see daddy" part was really good.  I was wondering if Cromartie left Ellison alive because of something else?  He knows a lot and they may be setting him up to be a radical-Christian who feels he has to "help" the end times unfold and is key in setting up skynet - thus his life is spared.  I don't buy the mercy thing.

Thoughts?

I was wondering if Cromartie left Ellison alive because of something else?

1) He knows Ellison is working on the Conner case.
2) He knows that Ellison will led him to John.

That might be it. It's simple enough. Ellison is now bait.

Originally I thought that Cromartie didn't kill Ellison because Ellison wasn't a threat to him.  He didn't have any large fire arms on hand and wasn't acting offensive.  Remember that Cromartie checked out the police at the bank earlier in the season and he scaned them and noticed that they weren't a threat so he ignored them and moved on with his mission.  Cromarties job is not to get into big fights and kill a lot of people. He just wants to complete his mission but will protect himself if threatened with enough force.  I think Dave has it right.  I really didn't see it till he said something but, yeah it could be that Ellison may end up leading Cromartie to the Connors.  Cromartie knows that him and Ellison have the same mission in finding the Connors just that they both have differnt plans for the Connors.  It would have taken a while for me to notice that if Dave didn't point it out.
John kinda meets his own father for the very first time but Kyle is just 5 and has no clue who he was looking at. Odd. Cool.

If there isn't a threat to John's life, then he would have no need to do whatever he does to create skynet. Skynet might have been created as an attempt to protect John. Skynet, after judgement day, then needs to attempt (but purposefully fail) to kill John to ensure he's properly motivated. It would also help explain why he would use terminators to protect himself from other terminators.

I figured the Terminator didn't kill him because he was not a threat, like Polaris pointed out with the police in an earlier episode, and Ellison surrendered to him with his eyes closed.

I like Dave's point that he knows if he leaves him alive he might lead him to John Conner.

Dan's theory works too.  Maybe skynet an use Ellison to create itself.

He probably was praying, but I didn't catch that.  I did catch that Ellison is a Christian, it's been becoming more and more prevalent in the show.  I enjoy him quoting scripture and stuff  Smiley

Nice theory, but I think it's just a mistake in the voice over.

Skynet really is trying to kill John, but he and the resistance re-program Terminators to serve them, and they sent Cameron back to protect John.

It's a big mistake. Personally, I haven't noticed the mistake yet, but I skip the intro credits anyway.

I don't have any stock in my theory either.
