There are a few younger kids I know that want to learn how to DJ ages 18, 15, and 15.  Right now I'm just making sure that they want to learn and stick with it.  Two dig EDM and the other likes hip hop.  The kid that likes Hip Hop is interested in Drum n Bass though (He has seen me mix Hip Hop vocals with DNB).  I'm looking forward to passing on some knowlegde but I'm really looking forward to the discipleship aspect.  I was just wondering if any of you have done much in the way of teaching someone the basics of DJing?  Hopefully, I can pass on my love for EDM as well.  I thought, "Man, if we don't raise up the next gen of DJ's and EDM afficianado's, EDM is going to be destined to end at the Nursing Home's we end up in!" Cry  < I really don't believe that. Just being melodramatic.

It's a bit like discipline a Christian I guess. If they don't have a real passion and hunger for God, they'll never grow. So, if they aren't really serious about being DJs, I wouldn't expect them to stick with it.

Disco never fully died. Neither will DJs.

I would like to start doing mentoring also but I have yet to find any kids with enough drive to actually accept my open invite to come over and start learning...   Roll Eyes

If I lived, say, 4 hours closer, Chris, I'd ask you if you'd take on mentoring a big kid. Wink
