Title: Traktor Scratch Post by: strobian on December 14, 2007, 08:05:53 AM Sorry if this thread is redundant, but I am curious about Traktor Scratch if there are any users here. I think it looks like a great program, any pros or cons out there.
Also does this program automatch beats for you as well. I know you have the option to use timecoded vinyl and cd with it. Thanks! Title: Re: Traktor Scratch Post by: Dave Richards on December 14, 2007, 08:16:03 AM Greg "stryke" chin swears by it. that should be good enough for you ;)
Title: Re: Traktor Scratch Post by: strobian on December 14, 2007, 08:44:38 AM Yeah lots of guys are using it now, Dubfire, Grand Master Flash, Chris Liebeng, just to name a few. Is Stryke paying you to plug him all the time ? ;)
Title: Re: Traktor Scratch Post by: Dave Richards on December 14, 2007, 10:39:39 AM No, but he should. I'll have to talk with him about that. Let's just leave it at he's one of the most impressive DJs I've seen live.
Title: Re: Traktor Scratch Post by: djdunamis on December 14, 2007, 10:44:20 AM i got it too.
Interface, good metal case and LCD panel, USB 2.0 and plenty of I/O options. I like the multicore cables, they're very nice. The software is good. If you buy Traktor Scratch now unitl end of December you'll get Traktor 3.3 for free. 3.3 adds vinyl control of Traktor Scratch and program lets you go up to 4 decks, two for control, two for other stuff. Traktor Scratch gives you read out for mixing, Traktor Studio has the auto beatmatch like you were talking about. Traktor Scratch, I like it since the GUI is much similar to FS. I can link up with my iTunes library and Beatport. It also has build effects that i can send out to my mixer's send/returns, can record within the program and then has some cool stuff like Looping, etc.... Only problem is that I'm running the absolute minimum on a WinXP laptop. So they should of bumped the minimum requirements on their site. Other than that, works great. Does that come with or linkable to the traktor scratch software, compatible for DJing? Title: Re: Traktor Scratch Post by: djdunamis on December 14, 2007, 11:02:42 AM i got it too. If you buy Traktor Scratch now unitl end of December you'll get Traktor Studio 3.3 for free. I haven't tried it yet, to see if you use both at the same time or just use 3.3 Studio in place of. You have to buy them separate unless what i quoted above.Title: Re: Traktor Scratch Post by: deeflash on December 17, 2007, 07:53:01 AM when you have Traktor Studio installed and then unlock traktor scratch on your PC, the vinyl control is unlocked in Traktor studio... so it just has to be installed... you don't need to run both at the same time.... once you install scratch, you can just use Studio all the time...
Title: Re: Traktor Scratch Post by: strobian on December 17, 2007, 10:04:50 AM wicked, I think I may end up buying traktor now... I don't think I want to mess around with warping tracks in ableton.
