Title: Proven Christian Electronica events.
Post by: aaroncavanaugh2 on February 28, 2007, 06:38:23 PM
Hi,

I am trying to put togther a list of Christian Electronica events that have a proven track record of weekly, monthly, or yearly events.

For example,

The three that I have right now are

1) The Underground in Cincy www.theug.com
2) Cornerstone The Dance Barn www.cornerstonefestival.com
3) XfestNW The Rave www.xfestnw.org

Things that were one-offs or are not proven yet like Clover and Yellow teapot are not waht I am looking for. I am looking for events, clubs, festivals, groovecollectives with track records.

Ideally, I would like:

Address:
Contact Name:
Phone:
Email:
Website:

I am putting together an industry help guide (for myself). If others want a copy later that is fine with me.

Thanks. God Bless.

Aaron.

What EXACTLY is proven though?

aaroncavanaugh2, I'm guessing by consistent here you mean something like:
1) more than 3 years running
2) At least 1 event a year
3) still going now

If so, then let me add:
Club Worship

I believe they have been running longer than any other Christian Dance events... and they consistently do it monthly! (With the occasional break).

As for info, you'll need to do some leg work off their web-site at: www.clubworship.org

If #3 is not part of the criteria, let me know and I'll add a post re: Ictus Ichthus Productions.  (Although I am planning a reunion house party gathering some time soon, but shhhh it's a secret... we're really not throwing events right now.)

Technically speaking... theug hasn't done an electronic night in a LONG time now.

Yeah, I was gonna say that as well. the Underground hasn't done any electronic shows in ages according to Cindy. They have mainly been a venue for rock comcerts.

We haven't done an electronic event since October of 06 (which was the Autobahn).  We hope to host the fall Autobahn each year.

And we were apart of the Cstone dance barn for several years.

Fusion hasn't happened in a VERY long time.

I think Club Worship is on temporary hiatus until they find a new location. I believe something is pending. Hopefully it will all pan out soon.

If we're not specifying active then I'd include Phantasmos. We did several Illumination and Radiation events over a few year period. As well as the SoulFest.

I just wish there was something happening now in my area. Really, I wish there was something in which we didn't have to set-up and tear down every event.

I think Aric forgot to add that these are All-Age Christian events. I've been Playing for them about 2 years now?(1 1/2?) april 27 will be the only event that I miss consecutively.
I agree that DaGathering doesn't get noticed enough... However, I believe that will change, dramatically!!!  8)

Fusion hasn't happened in a VERY long time.

Sigh......

You folks have no idea how much I miss setting up a room with lighting, video stuff and a break dance mat at 3:00am in a old scary theater.  There is nothing like it.  The next day playing back your lighting programs while loud quality music plays through the PA via a 1200 with a pile of kids try to dance with glowsticks.

If there was one "era" of my life I can re live or revive, it would be this.
