Title: Deckadance - new mp3 dj tool
Post by: Dave Richards on February 16, 2007, 09:27:09 AM
Ok... ALL of you know what a push-over I am for FL Studio. They finally have a NEW product that is really getting me worked up. It's called Deckadance. It's their response to Traktor, PCDJ, Torq and so on. You really should check it out. It looks like it has all my beefs with Traktor worked out.

A few cool things:

1) it can run as a vst or stand alone
2) it can USE vsts
3) built in sampler
4) vinyl/ext control support
5) fully midi controlled
6) built in fx
7) master tempo (you set the tempo to 140... both decks play back at 140)
8) Recording
9) looping, RElooping, and quick looping
10) up to 4 cue points

I dunno what the cost will be, but I bet it will be about half the price of Traktor. There is a demo out for FL Studio owners right now. I'd post it here, but they want to keep the spread of this to a smaller pool right now as it's still in development.

it's nice to see more and more companies seeing this as a viable market and not just a fad...  hopefully now native instruments will make traktor either rewireable or vst capable... then we could dj with ableton and traktor together switching back and forth on the fly...
