Title: Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK3s ??
Post by: Joel on November 06, 2006, 09:23:19 PM
Hey,
I used these for the first time the other night at a club in Vancouver and I had some small problems with them.

they often skipped in the track and keeping them in tempo was difficult for some reason. the pitch control for them was much finer than what i'm used to so you'd think it would be easier but it wasn't, i could keep proper time for about 30s then suddenly it would be in a different measure altogether.

i also noticed when i paused the deck to set the cue point, it also was skipping time in the GU interface by almost a full second back and forth.

i know i wasn't the only one that night having difficulties, both djs that played after i did had troubles and both of them are touring djs with 7-10 years experience.

just curious if anyone here has had similar problems with the MK3s?

I used a set up with them a few month ago and found that they were rock solid. Also the pitch change resolution can be changed with the press of a button. maybe you were getting AC power dropouts or high humidity or something?

i dont know man could have something to do with thier age... i upgraded to the DMP-555 about 3 years ago... they are WAAY better. they play mp3 discs as well as SD cards. they also have a feature that allows you to chage the BPM without affecting the pitch. (-: nice for trance djs

no longer than anybody else's unless they were at a higher elevation. But... It was a LOT longer than than the ppl on the international space station. That sucker orbits the earth in like 90 min. so... you day  was really longer than theirs.

if they're not old,it sounds like the laser carriage is loose. or misaligned.

it's a firmware issue. they need to update the firmware and the problem will be fixed. i know a few people who experienced the same problem as you did, joel. my experience on the mk3s was the exact opposite. they were rock solid for me.
