it was really sweet.... this is gonna be a great season!!!!

the first show wasn't as fantastic as I was expecting, however I was still glued to the TV! I can say it was a good start to know what happened since last season's cliffhanger. I am sure things will get better and I have a feeling this season will only cover "the next two weeks" as said by one of the characters on the show.

I thought it was awesome!   Glued to the screen the whole time.  :-) AND i could fast-forward through the commercials because I recorded to DVR.

as big as a fanatic as i am for Lost i have to agree with 404. they could of at least made it a 2 hour premiere. it was more of a teaser for this season to come. next week looks awesome

That's the secret to this show, the never-ending succession of cliffhangers, teasers and reveals that keep the audience hooked.  It's like a never-ending trance snare drum buildup that never breaks down.

I feel like I'm in an episode of the Twilight Zone where everybody keeps watching the show week in, week out, looking for the resolution to the cliffhangers, only to be faced with even more questions by the end of each episode.  And yet, they can't turn the channel. 

It's televised crack!!!

In the words of Stewie Griffin, "do not create a television series about a group of people who crash land on an island if you don't know where you're going with it."

That said, I'm hooked.

The pre-title-sequence scene was a jaw-dropper, but after that, I thought it was interesting but not riveting. However, I will say that J----- is one evil and manipulative woman!

I'm in. I'm a sucker, I admit it! Last night was a set-up for the season and set-ups are almost always a let down.

I was wondering, it looks like Kate, Jack and Sawyer are being held in an old zoo/aquarium. Is that where the polar bear came from?

I found something on answers.com with what was written on the door that closed in the hatch.  The bit during the lockdown that showed a map.

Flashback to Season 1: Was I the only one who LOL'd at Dr. Leslie Arzt (that high school science teacher) who was handling the dynamite at Black Rock? He got nervous about the dynamite "sweating" said something along the lines of "You need to be very careful with this stuff, you can't just.." and then BOOM!  :-X I know he died, but what a great way to go! He went out with a bang! And to top it off, the other guys are standing perfectly still in complete shock and Hurley says "Dude, you got some Arzt on you." I fell on the floor!

I read something terrible. It told me that they are having a porblem keeping lost interesting or something.....
I love this show. I hope they come up wtih a good ending and not draw it out til i hate it. I thought it was only supposed to be three seasons anyway? I cant wait for next wednesday. i am going nowhere.

Back to Lost....I cant even remember everything that happened in teh begining of season 3....im not so sure i want spoilers...but maybe i do? lol.....oooh the torture...

If you plan on watching Season 3 tonight, I'd suggest that you get caught up on the season 3 episodes to date, otherwise you will be entirely LOST.

The last episode we had here last week was when Kate, Syaid, found a house with animals ect.  they went in and had an altercation, someone got shot, and they left to go to the other island.  And blowing up the house as they left.

As much as Locke gets on my nerves, He soon will be running things I think. great show tho.

Man.. the reason I like the character so much is that he's the ONLY character engaging the island. When I want to figure out what the island is doing or thinking or made of.. I hope for a Locke ep. All the rest of the characters are just trying to survive.. PUUHLease.. that's exactly what they would be doing crammed in a cubicle back home.

well the shot was not in a vital organ. it was below his lungs. if he does die it will be from bleeding to death.

I think that Ben is mentally unstable and there is no "Jacob". I think that chair was empty and the things that happened in that room were set up by Richard prior to them getting to "Jacobs" house. When John shined his flashlight, Ben must have triggered the series of events that happened. I know it sounds far fetched, but there was nobody else in that room but Ben and John.

So ... they've just announced that there will be 52 more episodes and then LOST wil be done!  That means three seasons of 16 shows each (January to May with no repeats) after the third season is done.

Well, isn't that special!!

I totally disagree. :) That interpretation is completely inconsistant with what the island has allready done. The simple fact that John is the only one engaging the entity known only as "the island" almost promises that the island will respond in kind. Unless "the island" is some cruel metaphore for a cold heartless world.. which could be the case. ;)

I think "the island" is simply an island and nothing more. the things that have happened are all a result of something that someone did. everything had or will have an explanation. I think the writers want us to think the island has powers to throw us off. I think that Ben has enough people there fooled into thinking the Jacob character is real and that he is also responsible for a LOT of what has been happening the whole time. The pregnant women who keep dying? I bet it comes out that Ben is behind that. Trust me on this. the show has consistently been about cause and effect, more than coincedence.

Hmm.. I don't buy it. Most obvious examples, the various centers around the world with "healing powers" the island being one of them and we are led to believe that thsi is why John walk.
The unique Magentic properties of the island that Dahrma set up the swan station for that we are led to believe pulled planes from flight and was strong enough to implode an entire metal bunker.
Less obvious, the slave ship, the walking dead illusions, dreams of dead.. I mean no matter how good Ben is he can't put on a "your dead brother" suit and climb into your dreams to tell you where junk is on the island. It's gotta be purely metaphysical twightlight zone type stuff on that one.

Wasn't he wheezing near the end? I could've sworn he was wheezing and that his breath stopped immediately when--or shortly after--Ben left. Several people have been "killed" but so far only one has come back: Mikhail Bakunin (http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Mikhail): and that was supposedly because the fence was not at it's lethal setting.


If that's true then they really know how to P.O. the fans. Or at least how to P.O. this fan. I'd really hate to find out that it was all just a dream or that all the twilight zone stuff was all just an elaborate red-hearing to throw us off track for the entire series. They really lost momentum at the start of this season, didn't they? I thank God that I still had Heroes to watch when Lost wasn't at it's fullest.

all I have to say is...interesting peek into the future, it could mean for a good season 4 or a really awful season 4

If I haven't said this before.... I'm really glad that they've set an end date for the show. Now the writers can write a good story and not have to turn it completely into a soap to get as many years out of it as possible.

It'll be feast then famine though since they're going to show all 16 eps consecutively each year.
