Title: LONDON UK GROOVE FELLOWSHIP MEET UP? Post by: insisto on June 23, 2006, 07:00:42 PM Hi everyone, I know I have been kinda quiet about all this of late. Just finished my first year of my Multimedia degree so have been proper busy with assignments. Anyway, the thing is there are apparently quite a few of us Tfer's in and around London all with no doubt differing ideas about what we should/need to do about our presence in the EDM scene as christians. John Doe's recent thread has highlighted that there is obviously some question as to what we are perceived to be doing being involved and what our motives are but I think we can all agree that we need to help each other with whatever God has placed on our hearts with regard to EDM/Club Culture. Im sure we have all been involved in various projects, events and gatherings over the last decade and found time and again that these initiatives tend to falter in time from small numbers and a lack of mutual support. Numbers are not everything but the fact is, we WILL be stronger together in what ever we do collectively and individually. Tastyfresh is a great start point and a catalyst on a global scale but to really do anything in the real world we will have to meet in the real world at some point. Now I hope it will not be too short notice but I am guessing some of you have been keeping an eye on the main UK thread for a while. I am prepared to open my home, well my living room at least for a few hours one evening between Monday July 3rd and Sunday July the 9th. If you are serious about DOING something about this whole christ/club/dance thing then please add to this thread to let me know your preferred day to meet in that week. If you could let me know by the end of this coming Sunday the 25th as I need to give in my work shifts for that week by Monday morning. Please note that I live in SOUTH LONDON so I know this is not possible for many UK heads, but if you can make it at all, I think it will be worthwhile. Feel free to bring friends who are interested, it does not have to be just TF people. Once again, apologies for the very short notice. I just have not had the headspace until now. I have no doubt there will be more opportunities for those that can't make it this time round.
Peace insisto... Title: Re: LONDON UK GROOVE FELLOWSHIP MEET UP? Post by: Just Drew on June 24, 2006, 04:08:44 PM Me & a mate can do 3rd (all day), 6th, 7th, 8th (evenings only).

Title: Re: LONDON UK GROOVE FELLOWSHIP MEET UP? Post by: Gsynth on July 03, 2006, 10:30:28 AM yes thanks! see you soon.
Title: Re: LONDON UK GROOVE FELLOWSHIP MEET UP? Post by: insisto on July 03, 2006, 05:54:27 PM :-X Yay! We had a Groove Fellowship in London!! Thanks so much to you guys, Graham, Drew, Shana. Thankyou for everything you brought with you and everything you left behind... (I mean the ideas, prayers, fellowship etc, not the crumbs on the carpet!! LOL) I have written a few things down for future reference to make the next one better and build on what we have so far. Here, are a few of my thoughts...
For next time... Have a structure and make everyone aware of what that is from the beginning so no one is like "err whats next??" I propose that this structure could/should include the following important elements... 1. How's it going for you at the moment? - Honesty 2. One thing you are thankful about... - Gratefulness 3. Lets focus on God now... - Worship 4. A relevant topical discussion... - Focus 5. What are you working on? - Practical Support 6. Let us pray... - Spiritual Support As for prayer I think the following are a good way of directing our energies: 1. Gratefulness (something I feel strongly about, that's why I mentioned it twice! LOL) 2.A Personal Issue 3. A Personal Project 4. A Topical Issue from Dance Culture 5. A Topical Issue from Christian Culture 6. Tastyfresh These seem to me to be a good way of using the time. Some sections may have to be longer or shorter depending on what's happening in our lives and who's there I guess but I think they should all feature to some degree everytime we meet. These things are certainly what I would benefit most from right now. I would love to have a regular full on dance worship session with a decent sound system every week but that is for some future time I believe, not at the moment. However, a serious worship session is definitely a worthy project in its own right and is certainly something we can discuss and pray into. If it does happen, it won't be in my living room! LOL Add to the thread with any other thought and ideas you guys may have had. Once again, thanks so much for the support, we can make it happen together... Ezekiel 37. 1-14 "Let's talk" insisto... Title: Re: LONDON UK GROOVE FELLOWSHIP MEET UP? Post by: Gsynth on July 04, 2006, 08:37:13 AM well done, insisto!! it was an excellent time and good to meet with you and everyone! :) definitely I will be staying in touch and offering any support/ideas/prayers/insights/etc/anything I can to help... and look forward to returning to London in the future (I'm still here for 1 more week in London! :) yes I will enjoy this week, chilling in London... it's been good here.)
more soon, Shana :) so cool to meet everyone! Title: Re: LONDON UK GROOVE FELLOWSHIP MEET UP? Post by: pinkster on July 06, 2006, 03:26:22 PM Thanks for that, I was thinking about the meeting and I think it would be a good idea for somebody to open in pray because I need blessings from God to giver me knowledge and understanding what He wants from me/ us within groove fellowship and also it is keeping it God focused, And if I understand it correctly that should be the whole point of our lives and in turn also in worship.
But I think that insisto is right, that the following is a good basis to go off of; 1. How's it going for you at the moment? - Honesty 2. One thing you are thankful about... - Gratefulness 3. Lets focus on God now... - Worship 4. A relevant topical discussion... - Focus 5. What are you working on? - Practical Support 6. Let us pray... - Spiritual Support As for prayer I think the following are a good way of directing our energies: 1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 22 1. Gratefulness (something I feel strongly about, that's why I mentioned it twice! LOL) 2.A Personal Issue 3. A Personal Project 4. A Topical Issue from Dance Culture 5. A Topical Issue from Christian Culture 6. Tastyfresh I suppose the next point for us would be to select a date to meet up again also we should think/ focus on the following before we meet again; How's it going for you at the moment? One thing you are thankful about A relevant topical discussion What are you working on? Not sure if this would be personally or to do with groove fellowship or even both. Personal Issue A Personal Project This might be linked to what we are working on A Topical Issue from Dance Culture A Topical Issue from Christian Culture Tastyfresh Focusing on this before would be making us prepared for the meeting and looking forward without our pace and focus. Thanks Pinkster: aka; Graham Title: Re: LONDON UK GROOVE FELLOWSHIP MEET UP? Post by: djvicar on December 13, 2006, 01:23:37 PM Is there any plans for another Groove fellowship in London?
Even though im in birmingham id be prepared to travel. DJ vicar Title: Re: LONDON UK GROOVE FELLOWSHIP MEET UP? Post by: nsysto on December 14, 2006, 07:27:03 PM well, bless you for being prepared! 8) Im not sure as not long after our first meet I had to move out of London and am now living in Essex. Drew is still there and we may be hooking up on the 30th to go to The Upper Room in Tonbridge. To be honest I need to devote more time to my studies so I don't think its the right time for a GFShip for me at least not in a facilitating capacity for the next 18months...
