Title: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: Dave Richards on September 14, 2005, 09:49:48 PM Hey,
There are 2 ettiqutte rules here that I'm going to start enforcing. 1) This board is ONLY for NEW RELEASES. If you just got signed, started a new label, opened a new store... anything but released a new track that the public can obtain by purchasing needs to go into one of the other music forums. Myspace.com and other mp3 sharing site tracks don't count as a new release. Any threads that don't meet the requirements will be moved to Dance Culture. So post your non-signed, free tracks there as well as any industry news posts you may have. 2) Please use this format for your subjects: Artist - Title - Label - Release Date - Genre This will give the readers a very quick idea of what the release is before clicking on the link and keep this forum tiddy. That's all. Thanks. Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: Dave Richards on September 18, 2005, 08:49:01 PM Well... get what you can in. Seriously... The more specific it is, the better. Something like "New John Boy Track" doesn't work for too long.
BTW, you did pretty good with the MF one. The more descriptive and helpful it is, the more it will reach it's target audience in this sea of info. I just wanted to point out that many tracks in EDM have really long names, so it might prove difficult at times, and maybe you could allow the subject lines to be longer? Just a suggestion, and in the meantime I will follow the format and edit to the best of my ability to fit! Quote from: redsavior BTW, you did pretty good with the MF one. Thanks man, I gave it my best shot! Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: djdunamis on October 11, 2005, 11:57:27 PM ...
Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: Greenhorn Records on November 15, 2005, 11:33:37 PM So how would you prefer a label announces a new compilation or album by an artist?

Comp. Name - Various Artist? I don't really have a preference. The guidelines are just to help make things easier that's all :) Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: Greenhorn Records on November 17, 2005, 09:00:27 PM Alright. I just wanted to make sure I was opperating within your rules.
Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: natefrogg on November 24, 2005, 02:52:19 AM makes sense, it would be handy if you increased the amount of characters allowed for a subject heading in this section...not that i have anything to put in here, just a thought though...
Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: Dave Richards on November 24, 2005, 10:04:01 AM heh... I could do that... and then the next time I have to update the forums, I'll have to do it again :P

Any threads that don't meet the requirements will be moved. I find this kindof confusing. Are you saying that if you just got signed, started a label, or opened a store, you cannot post unless it's available for purchase/download? I think that's what you're saying... but it could be interpretted otherwise. Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: Dave Richards on March 16, 2006, 02:53:13 PM Pudd, that's news... not NEW RELEASES.
This only for announcements of material that you can BUY now. Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: thepudd on March 16, 2006, 03:35:53 PM Ahhh, I get it now :)
Perhaps the rule should be rephrased, cause it did take me 3 reads to understand it. And I know English is my first language. hehe Title: Re: How to Post a New Release (2 Rules Specific for this Board) Post by: Dave Richards on March 16, 2006, 04:13:30 PM haha maybe. I'll think about it.
