Title: Cornerstone: Who's Officially Going? Camping?
Post by: Dave Richards on June 10, 2008, 01:34:44 PM
Ok, we're a few weeks out. You should know if you are going or not by now. So... who's definitely coming and who's camping? For those of you camping, do you know that we camp as a group outside of the Barn? I hope you'll join us there.

We're camping at the arrow. well... to the left of the building at the arrow, by the trees. ;)

I'm going and camping out.  I am borrowing a small two person tent.  Look forward to seeing you there.  What do people do about food?  I was thinking stop at a grocery store on the way there?  I understand there is festival food also.

There's a small store on site for some food items. You'll mostly be getting food to cook from McComb's Walmart. The food vending on site is actually very good and fairly cheap too considering what it could be. A Subway sandwich will cost no more than $0.50 or so more than it would at a regular store, but you will have less of a selection. All in all, the food is great.

If you need a tent,  check out Academy Sports if there's one nearby.  They have a 7x7 tent that works well for cornerstone for $20.

As for food,  I discovered today that an ALDI grocery has opened in Macomb.  They're cheaper than Wal-Mart,  and the food's just as good.  Might wanna check 'em out!

I will be there, along with 20 other former UG people...

We are taking over camping by the lake and sucking up all the prevailing wind.

FYI - we will have a deck in our area this year....(Chris is a nerd :) )

I'm coming down on Tuesday, hoping to be there around mid afternoon.  I wanted to camp but turns out that I can't stay as long as I initially thought this year.  Next year, hopefully I can come down and camp etc. and stay longer.  Anyway, I'll be staying in a hotel for a night in Macomb.  Then planning on hanging out the day again on Wednesday for sure.

Meet the Birmingham Party Wagon (http://www.chevrolet.com/equinox/tour/). Kevin landed us a GREAT rental rate on it too.

good, you can tell us how it rides and how it does mileage wise.  I wouldn't mind something like that or a coupe.
