Now you need to post the Captain America one. Title: Re: Thor: The Movie! Post by: Dave Richards on May 08, 2008, 01:35:28 PM saw something about all this on fandango this morning. Apparently, each of the avengers gets their own flick B4 the avengers movie. In other words, they avoid the x-men constant origins movies.

Title: Re: Thor: The Movie! Post by: john.christian on May 09, 2008, 03:13:45 AM That would be the best way to do it in my opinion, at least. Most people who don't read comic books (at best) only now such characters by name. Just about everyone knows who Superman, Batman, The Hulk are because they've had exposure in other mediums such as Television and Film. Only recently is Graphic Literature becoming more mainstream.

Post by: john.christian on May 09, 2008, 01:09:10 PM Graphic Literature I work with ppl who cringe at making that a compound word. In some cases it's a better adjective because "Comic" indicates comedy where not all "Comic Books" are funny pages. As far as I know, America is the only country that has this problem with generalizing in the Sequential Arts. Graphical storytelling has a greater mainstream acceptance in other countries; eg. Japan's Manga and France & Belgium's Bande Dessinée (literally drawn strip). |
