Title: Life in Club Land
Post by: Tim Richards on March 29, 2008, 06:23:01 PM
Does any one just get over some of the people that night clubs attract?

So often some of them are just the type of people you just should not be spending time with in regards to keepin your mind in the rite place, but yet i know that god has put me in this place for a reason.....just gets very draining a times!

as they say only takes a few bad apples to spoil the bunch!

can you tell i had an intense weekend?

end rant  :-\

LOL!!  We have 'em here in the Southeast US,  TIm...They're called "Methheads" and they're quite the tiresome bunch.  They're slightly worse than the people you'll invariably get caught talking to who have very opinionated conversations about nothing at all.

I have to say though...The biggest thing I've learned in my years of clubbing can be summed up in one sentence....

ALWAYS avoid the afterparty.

No good ever happens there.

Reminded me of one kid I talked to last night at DaGathering....or at least attempted to talk to. The situation was, I just got done playing my set, and I was trying to recuperate my thoughts, and he wanted to talk about God. Telling me all his beliefs and such, and before I ever got a chance to say anything to witness to him, his group leaves. Come to find out later that he was on something, and I really couldn't tell, Like Aderol or something like that.
Later, he apologized for leaving like that. So eventually I'll get another opportunity to talk to him.

It's funny you should post this as I had a similar experience last night while playing.. however what I usually have to deal with are the sloppy drunks, spitting while trying to compose a sentence and bad breath.. oh what fun! Last night was particularly annoying because the place was so packed that I had people bumping my elbows all night and trying to put their drinks by the booth, etc etc etc Sometimes i wonder the same things.

I agree with you though, there is a reason God puts us in the position we're in and he can use any situation for His glory

Last week, a girl got up on the DJ stage and got in front of George Acosta and started dancing with him. He tried to play along at first but then she was in between him and the decks so he had to think quick on how to maneuver her away lol

Surprisingly, a lot of people I meet in LA at the trance / progressive house / psytrance events are pretty clean and very positive people. These are usually the hardcore fans that go every week and drive a long way to see their favorite DJs. But yeah, there's always the people you end up talking to who are cursing and spitting on you and just talking about gross stuff in general telling you think they did in the bedroom last night... I usually try to change the subject by giving them some random thing in my pocket, like almonds, and distract them somehow.

It also works for people who want to breath smoke. "Do you have a lighter?" "No, but I have almonds."

Or, begin yodeling the dangers of lung cancer while balancing on a turnip... leaves a long lasting effect.

You did just reach back in the fridge and take something out of the next DJ's "rider" stash and give it to him right?
