Title: Would you be interested in a new show for old music?
Post by: Christopher Carl on February 23, 2008, 06:09:29 PM
C.O.S.A. (Christian Old School Authority)

I like to pride myself in my knowledge of classic Christian Dance / Club / R&B / Rap. I know I did one show called "Jammin On The One" which was an old school rap show, but I want to expand this with a full regular show featuring Christian grooves from 1988 - 1999. Perhaps this show could open the door to remakes, remixes and tributes of some of those classic tracks. IE: Prophecy Of PANIC Remixes, etc. You could consider it a history lesson in our roots as a community.

If I were to do this how many would be interested in listening?

Would you recommend a better name?

(PS. don't turn this into a debate about why a show like this shouldn't exist because it focuses on only Christian marketed music. We are, afterall, Christians and I would love to provide this service for those who want it.)

I'm actually leaning towards borrowing from Gospel Housing Authority, but calling it "Gospel Music Authority", but then you have GMA (Good Morning America). Even then GMA doesn't really say what the show it or about. Any thoughts?

Honestly, I'm not sure i would be even interested in it. I know that it's our "roots" and all... but seriously you have to have a lot of material to make some sort of regular thing. I know that when it comes to old school christian music, a lot of it was really bad. sure you have enough really good material?

I would really be interested in this, Chris.  Can't wait!  Be sure to include lots of stories about who you knew/know personally, live shows you attended/performed at with the bands, etc.  This should be neat.

The Prophecy of Panic tribute will be out very soon, just got the last remix in from Timo.
