Ok people, this is just a loose annoucement because not everything is complete as far as signing the contract with YouthFront and planning goes but it looks as though this will be official so I figured I'd give everyone the heads up!

Me, dj404 and my business partner DJ Boza are in the planning stage of throwing KC's first ever Christian dance music event March 22, 2008 in Shawnee Mission, Ks @ YouthFront/Sonlife.  www.youthfront.org


We'll throw this event under the name "Divine Light Entertainment" a Chillfactor Productions Entertainment Group sub label. www.chillfactorproductions.com

depends on which room we rent? This facility is huge. The room we are looking at can probably hold up to 300 comfortably.

The studio area that we'll probably start with though holds approx. 300 comfortably but like Chris said, we need to start small and work our way up, I think if this one and maybe the next one does well then we'll look to getting Andy Hunter for a headliner and do this in the Main room that can hold about 1000 as well as the studio that hold 300, that should be sufficient, but we'll see how things go, I'm optimistic mainly because we are in the Bible belt and religious events do really well here like the  2  day "Rock The Light" concert festival @ Starlight Theatre here.  I'd like to get dj's involved in that event as well, maybe a seperate smaller stage and work our way into the local scene.  Anyway, this is going to be good, I can just feel it in my bones.  If anyone is interested in the Rock The Light festival here's the web link!

Will the events be worship nights (As in the stuff Andy Hunter Does) or just an event with some Christian DJ's playing?

I'd like to combine a little of both, maybe start the night with just dance with Christian lyrics and remixes then about half way through the night start the worship part of it like Andy Hunter stuff, I think if we do it that way then we can keep peoples interest in what we are doing, it would really diversify the nights.  I was going to mention to everyone that I do have two particular dj's on the lineup that may benefit from these events, in fact that one is Agnostic but is open minded and not opposed to the idea of God so he may come to know him through this plus his music is very clean content and language wise, the other dj is a Buddhist but not a practicing one, he's of Asian ethnicity so it's family related but he also is not opposed to the idea of God either so he may come to know God as well, it's my hope anyway.

So, most of the nights I've been at that run 5 hours or so hav3 only 3 or 4 DJ's with an hour to 90 minutes each.  You seem to have a LOT of people spinning.  Are you having multiple rooms?  Just curious how you'll be working it?

Well Trailer and Johnny Trax may actually tag with each other so that will be one set, the other thing is, we have the place reserved from 5 to 2am so we may even start earlier mainly because there may be a lot of kids there with curfews and their parents may not approve of them being there until 2am even if it's a Christian event, I don't know, just going feel people out and test the waters a bit and see what we can pull off, kind of a trial and error situation.

UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE!!!!

Attention everyone, we are changing the date of this event to June 28th, 2008, we had issues with getting the funding we needed but we now have it but with only two weeks until the original target date so we ask for the next possible date which isn't until the end of June but that's ok, this will give us ample time to make this event happen right.

The date move is actually an answer to prayer on my part. With all the treatments I am going through I never know what mood I will be in or how I will feel. By June 28, I will be WELL done with my treatments and ready to D:STROY!

This is fantastic you guys!  I'm so glad that Kansas is finally getting some christian DJ events happening.  Although it came about a year too late for me to participate, but hey, there maybe opportunities in the future.

Hmm, actually if my finances finally get straightened out this spring, and I'm able to make it out to Cornerstone, then maybe it will be possible to drop by this event first and go straight to Cstone afterwards.  That would be a good opportunity to see dj404 again, and maybe Ethan too.

I think I may have met you DJ EX 4....at a party you might have had...well, if so, it would be good to see you again too.

UPDATE: I've been searching high and low for a sponsor(s) but haven't had the best of luck, but I received a reply to an email I sent a few days ago to a Christian based designer clothing company called "1in3 Trinity" who also has their own energy drink as well, I thought this company would be very fitting for our type of events, well, to make a long story short the president of the company replied back to me yesterday, here's the email reply below:

"Hello Aaron,
I hope this finds you well.  I apologize for taking so long to respond to your email message, but my Marketing Team just forwarded it to me yesterday.
I took some time to explore some of the information you noted below and I am very interested in speaking with you about how we might be able to work with you and your team.  I really love your outreach program!

Now how awesome is this, God is really working for us on this whole thing, I can't wait to blow up the KC dance scene with our unique type of events, and from what I'm hearing from some veteran ravers/dj's/promoters, I have a lot more support for what I'm organizing than I think.

Sweet!  I'm really excited to see how this all goes.  Have you connected with the 24-7 Prayer community there in KC?  The maybe interested in doing something with you on this.

UPDATE: We now have a sponsor, I spoke with the President of 1in3 Trinity on the phone a couple days ago, she has agreed to sponsor our event starting with several cases of the energy drinks free of charge to sell at our events, pending things go well then we can discuss becoming an affiliate of their company and distribute their drinks which we will receive a commission on everything sold.  There are a lot of other possibilities for this company and us but this is a start.
